Let’s be clear: Life is difficult.
Although it may feel like there is nothing we can do to alleviate our stress, there are numerous steps and methods that we can take to reduce the pressure and regain control of our minds.
Stress affects us just like it does everyone else. It’s important to remember that stress is manageable, even though it’s an inevitable and natural part of everyone’s lives.
We have shared some stress-reduction tips and tricks to cope with stress in the following paragraphs and you might learn something new!
Here are some ways we cope with stress.
Journaling is one of our favorite ways to deal with stress. This practice has numerous therapeutic benefits, including clearing our minds of any negativity, improving our physical health, and encouraging us to be more open about our feelings.
There are countless possibilities for journal prompts and topics, but two of our favorites are writing down three things for which we are grateful each day and jotting down the good things that happened during the day.
Being physically active is another way to deal with stress. “Hot yoga and pilates a few days a week,” says Senior Entertainment Editor Gabrielle Bernardini, as her go-to stress relievers. Exercising and meditating help her “get out of my own head, feel good about myself, and cope with everyday stress,” she said.
Making time for our interests and pastimes is a third and perhaps the most important way to cope with stress. Relaxation is critical, and what better way is there than to indulge in something that we enjoy?
Simply turning on a movie or music or trying a new recipe isn’t enough for us; we need to get outside, read a book that captures our attention or treat ourselves to some new skincare.
Matters Media’s VP of editorial operations and Market Realist reporter Amber Garrett admitted that she is “somewhat obsessed with mindfulness [and] meditation expert Tara Brach,”. Amber also mentioned that she keeps a copy of this gif on her phone or tablet to use when she’s feeling overwhelmed.

The 2022 theme for Stress Awareness Month is “Community,” the reason being that a “lack of support can cause loneliness and isolation, which in turn lowers people’s wellbeing, impacts mental health, and can lead to mental illness.”
When faced with a crisis like the COVID-19 epidemic, we must come together as a global society because “people need help now more than ever as they transition to a new way of existence.”
