•Avoid Junk Food – By eliminating junk food from her diet, like pizza and burgers, she was able to cut down on her salt intake.
•Say No To Soda – She decided to get rid of soda completely after deciding that she wanted to lose weight. Now, instead of having drinks with sugar or artificial sweeteners, she only uses ice-cold water and fresh lemon slices for flavor!-
•Eat At Right Time – Gabourey’s diet consisted of six to seven meals per day including a heavy breakfast, mid-sized lunch, and light dinner.
WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY
Gabourey Sidibe’s weight loss was largely due to surgery. When she found out that she had been suffering from Type 2 Diabetes, she consulted with a bariatric surgeon and decided to undergo weight loss surgery. The actress had to have an 80% of her stomach removed. As a result, she can no longer eat too much at once and starts feeling full very soon after eating.
Sidibe’s new diet has helped her feel more energized. She knows that if she wants to speed up the weight loss process then it’s time for some exercise. Doing workouts on a regular basis helps improve your body shape and keeps away unwanted fats.
To reduce the risk of injury, Sidibe began with low-impact exercises like slowly walking on a treadmill and stair stepper. These exercises helped her burn a good amount of calories. Then she moved on to other exercises like leg press, lunges, squats, lat pull down, and barbell curl for 30 minutes three days per week.
After removing 80% of her stomach, the actress has lost around 150 pounds. She said that being bullied made her feel ugly before she lost weight.
