Kevin James is a successful comedian, screenwriter, producer, and actor best known for his role in CBS sitcom The King of Queens as Doug Heffernan.
Kevin has always been known for being the “big guy” with his large personality, but he wasn’t always like this. While in high school, his weight was only 150 pounds and it gave him the inspiration to become a professional athlete. Unfortunately, his multiple injuries made him decide to look for a different career option.
His body started showing notable changes in size throughout the most popular The King of Queens series that lasted for a decade. He had reached 300 pounds during the series and then slightly slimmed down.
Kevin’s weight loss story is one that will inspire you. When asked about how he lost weight, Kevin shared all the tips and secrets with everyone. James said that “I used to eat a low carb diet and had started running. There was a time when James was running around six miles a day”.
His weight loss story is a difficult one, with many ups and downs. A low-carb diet plus running every day helped him lose around 50 pounds in the end. But, Kevin had his eating habits go back to being very poor again and he gained the weight within just a few years. After gaining all the weight back, he ended up at over 300 pounds.
Kevin realized how high his weight had gotten, and so he decided to go back on the road towards losing it. After a few months, Kevin dropped over 40 pounds. After losing and gaining weight two times, Kevin is now at his desired weight of 235 pounds.
Kevin was determined to be healthier for his wife Steffiana de la Cruz and their three children. Kevin’s struggled with his weight for the last couple of years, but luckily people still love him. Kevin is one of those people who doesn’t mind cracking jokes about his weight and size.
