Fruits and vegetables are being processed more and more these days, which is a problem. You want to ensure that your greens are not only naturally grown, but also free of pesticides. Pesticides are pure poison, and don’t belong in the body at all – which is why avoiding them at all costs is such a big deal. For example, apparently, 98% of all strawberries tested by federal officials had some sort of detectable pesticide content. That’s alarming, as strawberries are one of the most popular fruit choices to work with.
Around forty percent of the fruits tested has residue from 10 or more different pesticide components, and in some cases, there was residue from well over 17 different pesticide products. Most of the ones found in strawberries were considered benign, meaning they wouldn’t harm you – but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any scary ones being listed. Strawberries used to be a seasonal crop, one that only came around during specific times of the year; but with the use of pesticides, they’ve lengthened the growing season (and in the process, as have lowered the quality of strawberries being produced).
Fruits and veggies will always be a large component when it comes to your well-being. Without a diet that is rich in nutrients/minerals and balanced, there’s almost no way for you to make the most out of your lifestyle. With that being said, you’ve got to understand which fruits are going to be on the “watch list”, as they have a tendency to carry copious amounts of pesticides.
Fruits You Should Watch Out For
Like everything in life, too much of anything good can be a problem. You may think that you’re making the right lifestyle change by introducing fruits and vegetables into your diet, but what if the amount of pesticides you consume becomes extensive? Pesticide contamination is ranked by the “Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce” every single year, marking the top 48 fruits that could contain pesticides.
